IIT Indore students accorded warm welcome

Under the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam' programme which is a Government of India initiative, a group of students from IIT Indore and from across the districts of Madhya Pradesh were accorded a grand welcome at the Imphal Airport by the officials and students of NIT Manipur.
A team of 49 students from Madhya Pradesh reached Imphal on Monday to promote interaction and dialogue between Madhya Pradesh and Manipur, said a press release by the Registrar, NIT Manipur.
The team will stay in Manipur till April 2, 2023 to understand and explore the rich culture and tradition of Manipur.

Students from about 25 districts of Madhya Pradesh are in this team.
The emphasis is to enhance the exchange of rich cultural and traditional ideas between the two States through this visit along with promotion of tourism, tradition, progress, technology and mutual contact.
A formal felicitation program was organized at the NIT Manipur campus to welcome the students of IIT Indore.
Students from IIT Indore later went to see and took part in the evening Aarti ceremony of Govindjee Temple and later had an opportunity to explore Marjing Polo complex.
Speaking on the occasion, the Registrar of NIT Manipur Professor Kh Tomba Singh, expressed happiness that the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam' is able to connect people from various parts of the country.
He also applauded the initiative of the Government of India, which aims to establish an interrelationship between the youth of the North Eastern States and the rest of India.
The event was organized under the ambit of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' and 11 higher education institutions from the North East and 14 from the rest of the country have been linked for reciprocal visits.
During the 5-day stay, the team from IIT Indore will be visiting various historical sites and popular tourist destinations including Keibul Lamjao National Park.
