Five mini tractors, water distributed

Sajik Tampak Battalion Assam Rifles of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) distributed five mini tractors to farmers of Sajik Tampak village in Chandel district under Op Sadbhavana Project for the year 2022-23 on Monday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the officers of Sajik Tampak Battalion also interacted with the farmers of the village and made them aware about the organic farming technique in the country and explained the available opportunities for the youth to make career in the agriculture.
The present project was undertaken as a follow up of emphasis on organic farming, wherein recently an education tour was conducted to Sikkim to educate on organic farming.
A total of 113 locals who attended the event appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for distributing of five mini tractors and inculcating organic farming experience in the held of agriculture.
Meanwhile, Somsai Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed 6000 litres water at Alungtang and Meizalung localities in Ukhrul on Tuesday on the request of the governing bodies of the various localities, where acute shortage of water with onset of summer is creating problem.
The people of Ukhrul extended their gratitude for the aid extended by Assam Rifles and urged to undertake initiatives for the benefit of the society, said the PRO.
