Elite: CYCLONE beat CRAU; B Hawk earn first victory

CYCLONE upstaged CRAU by 58 runs while bottom-placed Blue Hawk registered their first win after beating MODEL in the MNCA Elite Tournament on Tuesday.
CYCLONE remained in the third place of the table following their commanding victory against CRAU in a shortened match.
They now have 17 points from 11 matches, closing in on second-placed CHAMP who are two points ahead of the Thangmeiband side.
Bikash Singh dazzled with the bat as his smashed an unbeaten 106 off 56 balls to help CYCLONE post 208/6 in their allotted 25 overs.
L Santosh (35), K Homendro (24) and Aditya Prasad (19) supplemented Bikash's knock with helpful contributions.
The Thangmeiband squad then produced a disciplined bowling performance to limit CRAU to 150/7 in 25 overs for their emphatic win.
CYCLONE'S collective bowling effort saw Kishan pick up two wickets while L Santosh, L Ronald, A Ronald and Suraj M took one each.
Ronil P scored 31 and K Bimol got 18 in CRAU's futile run chase.
Earlier, Dinu claimed two wickets while Kala, Mehtab, Ajay and Jotin accounted for one each for CRAU.
Meanwhile, Blue Hawk claimed their first win after beating MODEL by 36 runs via VJD method.
Blue Hawk garnered a challenging total of 252/6 in their 40 overs after opting to bat.
Amom Guniram top-scored for the team with 72 off 72 balls, followed by Gautam Soubam (59), Mintu Chandra (34), Mutum Sudhir (25), Becker Roy (16 not out) and Nongthombam Ajit (11 not out).
After Blue Hawk's innings, the match was reduced to 30 overs bringing down MODEL's target to 211, which the Singjamei side failed to achieve after being bowled out in 27.5 overs for 174.In their run chase, Robertson came up with a fine knock of 65 off 54 balls but his effort went in vain.
For Blue Hawk, N Jackeichand, Samsung H, Semson S and Gautum S snapped two wickets each as Becker Roy and W Samson chipped in with one apiece in their triumph.
