Lions Club Imphal organises peace poster contest

Imphal, September 25 2022:
Lions Club of Imphal organised a peace poster contest at its Lions Service Centre, Sangaiprou on the theme "Lead with Compassion" for students of the age group 11 to 13 years.
The 1st prize with cash award of Rs.5,000/- was won by Pheedam Sinam of Ramakrishna Mission School, while the 2nd prize with Rs.3,000/- as cash award was won by Ningombam Priscilla of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong.
The 3rd prize with Rs.2,000/- was won by Angela Heikrujam of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lamphelpat.
Two consolation prizes were also given.
Speaking at the sidelines of the contest, Lion L Ibomcha Singh, Chairman Peace Poster Committee of the Club said the peace poster contest for children of the age group 11 to 13 years gives an opportunity to express their vision of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity.

The winner of the contest at Club level will be submitted to District level.
The best poster from among the District will be submitted to Multiple District level and after selection, the best poster will be submitted to the International Headquarter of Lions Clubs.
From among all the submissions, the Best poster will be awarded a Grand Prix Award having an award value of $5000, by Lions Clubs International.
He continued that from India, the Grand Prix Award has been won only twice, in 2010 and in 2014.In both the instances, the winners were from Manipur which is a matter to be proud of.
On the other hand, the 2nd Eye OPD for the month of September, 2022 was conducted at Lions Eye Hospital.
Altogether eye check-ups of 12 patients were done by Lion Dr L Chaoba Singh.
Free medicines were also given.
