Irabot month celebration continues

Bpr/Thb, September 25 2022: As part of the month-long celebration of the 126th birth anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irabot, the 19th Local Level March-Past Competition 2022 was held today at Ningthoukhong Bazar.

It was jointly organised by the Irabot Celebration Committee, AISD, Lions Club Ningthoukhong and D-CACUS Education Center Manipur.

Students from 16 schools of Ningthoukhong and nearby areas took part in the competition.

Winners of the competition in junior category are- boys contingent of Royal Education Centre, Kha Potshangbam (1st); boys contingent of Public School Ningthoukhong (2nd) and girls contingent of Public School Ningthoukhong (3rd) .

In the senior category- girls contingent of Public School Ningthoukhong (1st); boys contingent of Public School Ningthoukhong (2nd) and Royal Education Centre Kha Potshangbam (3rd) .

Irabot Celebration Committee Ningthoukhong president, Kh Jadumani; D-CACUS Education Centre Manipur, CMD, Dr I S Konthoujam; and Lions Club of Ningthoukhong president, Kh Ramananda attended the event as presidium members.

Irabot Celebration Committee Heirok Local today celebrated the 126th birth anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irabot at Heirok Part-I Community Hall.

It was attended by CPI national executive member, Dr M Nara; CPI leaders, N Lokendro, P Lokhon, S Chaoba; Heirok Part-I Pradhan, L Khamba and Heirok Part-II GP Pradhan nominee, Th Premjit attended the event as presidium members.

N Ibomcha, former nuclear scientist; social worker N Shamer and M Manglem also took part in the programme as special guests.

As part of the programme, a march-past competition was also conducted.

It was participated by students from different schools and band parties.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot, Numitki Mangal Village Level Federation (VLF) under the aegis of Manipur State Livelihood Mission also organised a 2-days social service programme cum tree plantation at Charangpat Maning Leikai and Nepra Company today.

Similarly, Khangabok Development Society, Khangabok also organised a declamation contest on the topic, "Live and works of Hijam Irabot" at Khangabok Awang Upper Primary School.

The inaugural function of the contest was attended by CPI Manipur State secretary, Ksh Shanta Singh; Khangabok Awang Upper Primary School headmaster, Athokpam Basanta Singh and Khangabok Development Society president, Laishram Lenin Singh as presidium members.
