Chilivai Naotoumai Me celebrates silver jubilee

Chilivai Naotuomai Me (Chilivai Women's Organisation) celebrated its silver jubilee under the theme 'Women's role in the social change' at Lakhamai village in Senapati district on Saturday.
Karong MLA J Kumo Sha, who was chief guest of the event, said that equality between men and women is taking place slowly in the society with the change of time and this indeed is a positive sign of a progressive society.
He maintained that a society would not move forward unless women of the society progress.
Expressing gratitude to the gathering for giving their sup port and electing him to Manipur Legislative Assembly, J Kumo Sha sought cooperation and support from women in future.
Former Chilivai Naotuomai Me president M Shanti, in her address, stressed the need for gender equality in contemporary society.
She also advised womenfolk to exhort their husbands and menfolk guide and encourage women for betterment of the society.
Poumai Naga Naotuomai Me president P Delilah Pao saluted the CNM pioneers and founders and congratulated the CNM on attainment of 25th year of its existence.
The event was attended by more than 300 delegates from 23 villages of Chilivai area.
Earlier, MLA J Kumo Sha unveiled the silver jubilee monolith at Shamaifii centre (Lakhamai village) .
