Kidney Dialysis Centre set up at Ukhrul District Hospital

Ukhrul District Hospital has opened "Kidney Dialysis Centre '' for the welfare of the people of Ukhrul district.
According to the Medical Superintendent of Ukhrul district, Dr Reisangmi Raikhan, the Kidney Dialysis Centre will curtail the expenditure incurred in medical treatment.
He also went on to mention that patients from Ukhrul district who are undergoing kidney dialysis can now avail the services of the Centre free of cost, especially those patients who are CMHT and PMJAY Health Card holders and those who belong to the BPL (below Poverty Line) section.
Dr Reisangmi further informed that a 50 year old male patient from Viewland Zone III, Ukhrul was the first patient to undergo kidney dialysis procedure at the Centre from the day of opening the Centre.
The patients from Ukhrul district undergoing treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal and other multispeciality centres in Imphal can now contact District Hospital, he said.
This will reduce the financial hardships and other inconveniences faced by the patient party.
It may be noted that the project was taken up through the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme.
