Role of ASHA workers in health sector emphasized at seminar

Chandel, December 20 2022:
A one-day district level seminar on "Early Identification: Referrals" was conducted at the community hall of Penaching village, Chandel today.
The seminar was jointly organised by the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disability, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Chennai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India in collaboration with Asha Kiran, Manipur.
Dignitaries present at the seminar include Dr N Dike Mao, Director, Family Welfare Service as the chief guest and Dr Serthani, Chief Medical Officer, Chandel District as the guest of honour.
Numerous ASHA workers from Chandel district were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Dr N Dihe underscored the role of ASHA workers in ensuring that the public maintain good health.
He also emphasized on the importance of early detection of diseases in pregnant and new mothers and the role of ASHA workers in their treatment.
During the technical session of the seminar, Supriya Paul, Special Educator, BB Paul Mental Development Home Mongshangei, Nipuchandra and W Bimola spoke at length on the topics of 'Introduction to Early Identification and Intervention', 'Mechanism of Early Identification for Special Needs Child' and 'Role of Parents and Community in Early Intervention As per RPwD 2016' respectively.
