Villagers commemorate 100 years of Christianity

Residents of Modi village observed Christianity Centenary Celebration of Modi Baptist Church at the Centenary Hall of the village today to mark 100 years since the adoption of Christianity by the villagers.
Today's celebration was organised under the theme of "Celebrating God's Faithfulness" and saw the attendance of Reverend Dr Huten Wilson, executive secretary, Anal Naga Baptist Association (ANBA) and ANBA's Reverend SR Onesima as chief speakers.
As a part of the celebration, Reverend Dr Huten Wilson unveiled a memorial stone to commemorate the event while KL John Motah, Chief, Modi Village and administrator of the event, Reverend Dr Huten Wilson released two doves to kickstart the function.

Aside from this, Reverend Dr Huten Wilson also released a souvenir to mark the centenary celebration.
Worship songs and dances were also presented to the delight of the gathering today.
Reportedly, Lh Thumdang, Ht Mindil, Ht Tohring, Ht Shanhthur, Ps Khimung, Kl Tothung, Ht Tobing and Kl Khelthung were the first people to adopt Christianity in Modi village.
