In view of the upcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations which are barely a week ahead, the Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi (ZSP) Chandel has appealed to the public to refrain from creating noise pollution in larger interest of the student community.
Tungdim Daniel Zou, education secretary of the student body pointed out the importance of HSLC and HSSLC examinations in a student's career and added that noise pollution is hampering the preparation of students for their examinations.
He stated that it is the right time to create a conducive studying and learning atmosphere for students.
Appealing to the public to refrain from using loudspeakers, sound amplifiers and other means of noise pollution from machinery or tools of any kind from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am, the student body informed that it will impose a strict curfew on students of classes X and XII (who will be appearing in the upcoming board/council examination) with immediate effect from 5:00 pm of April 1 until the last day of the examinations.
It also urged the District Administration to find a mechanism to control noise pollution in the district.
ZSP Chandel further mentioned that for smooth conduct of examinations, the student body is always ready to assist the concerned authority.
