Public urged to aid student examinees

In view of the upcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) anti Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations which are barely a week ahead, Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi (ZSP), Chandel has appealed to the public to refrain from creating noise pollution in the larger interest of the student community.
Tungdim Daniel Zou, education secretary of the student body, said that keeping in mind the importance of HSLC and HSSLC Examinations in a student's career, ZSP, Chandel, which is the joint headquarters of Zou Students Association-General Headquarter, drew the attention of the general public to the fact that noise pollution is hampering the preparation of the students for their examinations.
He said that the examinations are less than a week away and it is the right time to create conducive studying atmosphere for students whose regular classes were disrupted by the Covia-19 pandemic.
While appealing to the public to refrain from using loudspeakers or sound amplifiers of any kind from 6 pm to 7 am, ZSP said that it will also impose a strict curfew on the X and XII students who will be appearing the upcoming board and council examinations with immediate effect from 5 pm of April 1 until the last day of the examinations.
"There will be zero tolerance against anyone breaching the curfew," it added.
ZSP Chandel also asked the district administration to find a mechanism to control noise pollution in the district.
The student body also said that it is always ready to assist the authority concerned in any way it can during the examinations.
