Imphal, March 30 2022:
The indefinite bandh called by Southern Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) against Manipur bound vehicles along National Highway 2 over a boundary dispute has entered the 10th day today.
The prolonged imposition of the bandh demanding withdrawal of security personnel from Dzuko Valley has greatly affected the supply chain of Manipur as goods carriers have stopped transporting essential items along this route due to the restriction.
According to credible sources, Tenami People's Organisation (TPO) which is based in Dzuko Valley has sent a proposal to SAPO to withdraw its bandh to settle the issue through dialogue.
Notably, the State Government has also been pressing the Government in Nagaland to look into the matter and do the needful so that the bandh which has greatly affected the lives and livelihood of Manipuris can be withdrawn.
On the other hand, 77 LPG bullet trucks, 50 petrol tankers, 41 diesel tankers of IOCL, 4 Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) carriers and 27 vehicles of BPCL and HPCL reached Imphal via Imphal-Jiribam road, yesterday.
