Imphal, March 30 2022:
The Zeliangrong United Front has expressed its reservations over the abduction of one driver working for a certain Company near Reangkiakiulong village on March 22, 2022 allegedly by NSCN (NK), supposed to have been stationed in Assam border.
In a release issued by John Pame.
secretary Information & Publicity of ZUF, the front informed that the incident was witnessed by some villagers who tried to intervene but to no avail.
Alleging that the NSCN (NK), Nagaland based faction wilfully collects taxes and abducts people for ransom or operate outside their covered areas, the front cautioned and called for immediate unconditional release of the abducted driver.
The front also urged the high command of the said group to take care of its cadres and respect each other's jurisdiction.
It also alleged that some cadres of the Nagaland base group are supposedly impersonating and professing to be cadres of ZUF, collecting money and intimidating the public and company workers in the name of ZUF in some strategic areas in Tamenglong District.
"Any faction or group(s) based in Nagaland, infiltrating in the concerned jurisdiction shall not be tolerated.
Public and all concerned villages and area authorities are informed not to give any sort of tax or collection to the infiltrators", it added.
ZUF further urged the public, concerned village authorities and CSOs to raise their voice against such activities being wilfully committed in the Zeliangrong areas and to cooperate with the front in safeguarding the interest, safety and security of the people.
