CM flags off Imphal-Mao bus service

Imphal, March 30 2022:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh flagged off the Imphal-Mao Manipur State Transport (MST) bus service from MST complex at Moirangkhom, today.
At the occasion, N Biren stated that the bus service was launched to maintain close relationships among the people living in border villages and valley areas.
He recalled that the Manipur State Road Transport Corporation was revived as Manipur State Transport by the BJP led Government after its formation in 2017.Stating that around 28 MST buses are operating in the State, the Chief Minister stated that the Government is in the process to procure three more buses.
He also stressed on the need to extend the bus service upto Dimapur in the larger interest of Mao people.
The Chief Minister mentioned that regular bus service between Imphal and Mao would facilitate marketing opportunities.
Mao AC MLA Losii Dikho stated that people from different communities have started working together for the development of the State under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) P Vaiphei, Director (Transport) Dr Nivedita Lairenlak-pam and presidents of Naga People's Organisation, Mao Council and Mao Students' Union also attended the programme among others.
The Naga People's Organisation, Mao Council and Mao Students' Union expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for launching the bus service.
Later, the Chief Minister visited Chingmeirong, eastern side of DM College, and took stock of the location where a temporary Mao Market would be set up.
Bus plying from Imphal to Mao will depart from Nagamapal, RIMS Road comer near Kasturithong at 7 am and 2.30 pm every working day while the bus coming from Mao to Imphal will depart from Mao Bus Parking, near Traffic Island, Mao at 6 am.
