As not a single positive case was detected out of 24 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, the State remains free of coronavirus as of now.
Meanwhile the Government of India has made it mandatory for all international passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand to India to undergo RT-PCR test before their departure from these countries/destinations and upload the Covid negative RT-PCR test report on Air Suvidha portal from January 1, 2023.The test should have been done within 72 hours of undertaking the journey to India.
The mandatory RT-PCR test is in addition to the random 2 per cent tests of all international passengers in all incoming international flights on their arrival to India irrespective of port of departure, said a PIB press release.
With no report of either fresh positive case or Covid related death, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State and the Covid death toll stand at 1,39,922 and 2149 respectively.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 32,65,933 .
In view of the recent surge in coronavirus cases in some countries due to the BF.
7 variant, the Covid-19 Common Control Room has appealed to all the people to get complete doses of vaccination and follow Covid appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently.
