Imphal, December 29 2022:
While condemning ex-minister O Lukhoi's action against him on December 27 at ZEO Wangoi office, assistant inspector of school in-charge for Mayang Imphal circle Yumnam Nikendra has sought protection of government employees.
Nikendra is currently undergoing treatment at Public Hospital, Hatta after ex-minister O Lukhoi allegedly thrashed him at ZEO Wangoi office.
Narrating his ordeal to media persons on Thursday at the hospital, Nikendra recounted that he reached his office at about 11am on December 27 and tended to office work as usual.
At about 2pm, some security personnel came to the ZEO office and started looking for him.
After identifying himself to them, they told him to meet their boss (ex-minister Lukhoi) and there was no hesitation on his part in meeting the ex-minister.
"After being surrounded by security personnel, Lukhoi shoved me into a room of the nearby newly constructed building of agriculture department and started canning my leg with a bamboo pole.
When asked the reasons for thrashing, Lukhoi accused me of talking against him and even claim of having evidences.
However, I have no enmity with O Lukhoi and thrashing me without giving time for explanation was condemnable," Nikendra said and demanded protection of government employees.
He also demanded removal of security escort from O Lukhoi to avoid misuse of power.
A complaint regarding the incident has been reported to Wangoi PS but no FIR has been registered till date, he said and drew attention of higher authority in this regard.
