Niruta's all-round show powers THAU to top spot in Women's cricket

Niruta Thoudams' all-round display helped THAU thrash PTCC by 235 runs and dislodged leaders PTRC from the top spot of the standings in the MNCA Women's One Day Trophy on Thursday.
THAU put up a massive total of 274 for 2 in 35 overs after being asked to bat first.
Niruta Thoudam took centre stage in the innings as she came up with a fine knock of 161 off 100 balls, with valuable contributions from Aishwarika Chanu Moirangthem (50 not out), Kiranbala Chanu Haorungbam (18) and Monica Ningthoujam (15 not out).
In the process, THAO lost a wicket each to Sanaloo Takhelmayum and Sijapriyari Chanu Hijam.
THAU then needed 22.4 overs to wipe out PTCC for a meagre 39 as none of their batters managed to get into double figures.
Niruta Thoudam followed up her fine batting show with a remarkable feat of taking four wickets in her three-over spell.
Aishwarika Chanu also impressed with three wickets and Kiranbalal Chanu and Nilopher Tokpam got one each.
This was THAU's fourth win on the trot that helped them secure eight points to overtake PTRC, who have also eight points (from five games), at the top of point table.
