2022 year end round up Bpr Cdos netted 38 drug smugglers

Bishnupur police commandos arrested 38 drugs smuggler and 36 active cadres of different underground outfits and seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from January 1, 2022 till today.
According to a report received from Bishnupur district police, 38 drugs smugglers, three gang members/kidnappers, four vehicle lifters and three liquor smugglers were arrested from different parts of Bishnupur district and 4.408 Kgs of heroin (No 4), 92.233 Kgs of opium, 421 grams of WY tablets, 3250 Kgs of poppy straw, 447.7 Kgs of poppy seeds and 160 Kgs of sandal wood were seized from their possession.
As per the report, 36 active members of different underground outfits were also arrested during the period by Bishnupur comman- dos under the command of Mayengbam Roni, Addl SP (Operation) Bishnupur.
The commandos had also recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition which included one M16 rifle with magazine along with 4 live rounds, one MA assault rifle along with magazine and 54 live rounds, one SLR with magazine along with 8 live rounds, one modified 7.62 rifle, six 9 mm pistols along with five magazine and 13 live rounds, one 7.65 pistol along with magazine and six live rounds, 6 numbers of .32 pistol along with 10 magazine and 16 live rounds, one carbine magazine, 2 numbers of .36 hand grenade along with one detonator, 1 hand throw lethode, two lethode shells, six Chinese hand grenades along with two detonators, three AK live ammunition, two signal light cartridges, 5 PEK explosives weighing 500 grams along with four detonators of PEK and 38 mobile phones.
Bishnupur commandos recovered five stolen Tata trucks, 13 stolen four-wheeler vehicles and 11 stolen two-wheeler mopeds from vehicle lifters during the same period.
141 boxes of Mac Dowell, 12 boxes of Royal Stag, 179 boxes of Old Monk, 64 boxes of Kingfisher beer bottles and 290 boxes of Kingfisher and Tuborg beer cans were recovered from three liquor smugglers from January 1, 2022 till today.
