Churachandpur Run 2022 held

Churachandpur, December 29 2022:
The UK Eimi on Thursday organised Churachandpur Run 2022.The run was flagged off by SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve from Lamka Public Ground.
The event was largely participated by youngsters from Ccpur.
The run/race participated largely by youngsters was divided into 5km and 10km categories.
The 5km event started from the Churachandpur Public Ground passed through Tipaimukh road, Rengkai road, Nehrumarg, Teddim road, CYA road, Meriam street and culminated at the Lamka Public Ground.
On the other, the 10km race, also started from the Lamka Public Ground, passed through Rengkai road, Bible Hill road, Jamsuan road, Nghathal road, Thingkangphai, Mualkoi Gangpimual road, Pearson and finally ended at the Lamka Public Ground.
K Bikram Meitei won the men's 10km race with Thangminlal Haokip and Sanglalrem coming in second and third respectively.
The winner took home a cash prize of Rs 6000 while the runner-up got Rs 4000 and the third-place finisher was given Rs 3000.In the women's 10km event was won by Chingngaihmuan Tangpua as Hoichin bagged the second place.
Chinghoihlun emerged as t he winner of the 5km race and received Rs 3000 while Chinglianmoi finished second for Rs 2000 and Niangzalam came in third to claim Rs 1000 .
According to James Fitton, the run was aimed at encouraging the youngsters to be physically active to help improve their health, to develop a sense of achievement and to d ivert their attention from drugs and alcohols.
