Lamka, December 22 2010: At least two oil depots of the district dealing Kerosene here have been locked later today after a surprise visit to verify the quantity of oil available on three depots by the district administration to establish possible siphoning .

The surprise visit to three K Oil dealers of the district was conducted after a tip-off, said Jacintha Lazarus, the Deputy Commissioner and the individual that heads the visiting team.

She was accompanied by the SDPO, Churachandpur.

During the visit, the team discovered that oil reserves of two dealers were well below the official record.

This led to an immediate shut down of defaulted depots, and the dealers have been summoned before the district magistrate tomorrow.
