Thawai Meerel appeals to support Malem Thongam's solo ride campaign

Thawai Meerel has appealed to the public to support the 2nd leg of the solo ride campaign undertaken by Malem Thongam with the message to end the over three-year-long violence.
Addressing a press meet at the residence of transgender social activist Malem Thongam at Maibakhul in Imphal East, Thawai Meerel general secretary Paonam Sanahanbi said Malem has been campaigning to end the war waged by Kuki narcoterrorists in Manipur.
She appealed to all to support Malem's firm resolve to stop the series of blockades by Kuki organisations and atrocities committed against Manipuris.
In the 2nd leg, Malem will cover a total of 15,555 km across 22 States in 272 days starting January 3, 2027, she said.
The ride will start from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir and pass through Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and conclude in Mizoram.
Representatives of Maibakhul Village Development Committee, clubs, Meira Paibi and Meitei Langol who also attended the meet assured to look after Malem's mother during her journey.
