IDPs hail NIA arrest in Tronglaobi rocket attack case

Imphal, September 30 2026: IDPs of Urup OBC Girls' Hostel Relief Camp have hailed NIA for arresting a second accused in the Tronglaobi rocket attack case.

On April 7, 2025, a rocket fired at a Meitei house at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai killed two sleeping minor children and critically injured their mother.

One Kuki terrorist was arrested earlier and the second on September 25, 2026 .

In a release, the IDPs termed it a major achievement of law enforcement agencies.

They urged the Government to ensure befitting punishment to the terrorists.

They also said that after the incident, social worker Chongtham Bijoy had spread misinformation on social media portraying it as done by Meiteis, which created confusion.

Now that the real culprits are known, he should clarify before the public, they said.
