Continued selling of banned products which the state government had blacklisted as harmful products has became a threat to the people of the state, said Tekcham Brojendro Khaba, Deputy Food Safety Officer.
Speaking to the media, Brojendro said that Keshori Dal and Titli brand hing was banned under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 from September 7 and October 27 this year.
He said that eating Keshori dal causes neurological disorders.
A sub standard product is also being marketed under the cover of Titli brand hing.
This is a slow poison.
Khaba said these products are still widely available in the market.
He said that the products available in the state market are tested in the Food Laboratory of State Medical Directorate.
Moreover, there is no label of expiry date, date of manufacture in the products which come through Moreh.
They also caused harmful effects to the person who eats them.
Lichi drinks imported through Moreh are also harmful to one's health.
