Imphal, July 11 2023:
The State Government must facilitate online classes for students within two weeks, said All Manipur Students Guardians Organisation today.
AMSGO general secretary Sumati Shougrakpam in a statement said even though schools have been opened, attendance is extremely low with most parents fearing for their children's safety amid the present crisis.
The situation remains tense and unpredictable and as such parents and guardians are reluctant to send their children to school, she said.
She continued that the present situation is not conducive for conducting classes peacefully.
The students need a peaceful environment and the Government should not take the present crisis besieging the State lightly.
It should first bring peace and stability to open schools effectively, he added.
Online classes were conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic and it proved quite useful and beneficial to the students in the absence of regular physical classes, she said urging the Government to provide the same facility to the students at present while it works on measures to bring peace.
She appealed to the Education Minister to provide facilities for online classes to the students within 2 weeks' time.
