Hundreds pay last respect to Sanjitkumar

Hundreds of people paid their last respect and bade a tearful adieu to Saikhom Sanjitkumar alias Subol as his mortal remains were laid to rest today.
Accompanied by a large number of people, family members claimed the body for the last rites from RIMS morgue after completion of post mortem.
Subol was gunned down yesterday morning by Kuki militants at Kadangband under Imphal West district.
A large number of people came out to the street and bid farewell to the 28 year old man who laid down his life fighting against Kuki militants and their aggression.
The crowd shouted slogans against the Assam Rifles, Kuki militants and against any attempt to disintegrate Manipur.
The mortal remains of Subol were taken to his native place along with a procession participated by a large number of people from RIMS morgue.
The procession passed through RIMS-Uripok road and then proceeded toward Maharani bridge and the mortal remains were later taken back to his native place, Uripok Achom Leikai where the last rites were performed.
People in large number came out to the street to bid farewell to the departed soul and paid floral tributes.
The crowd shouted slogans demanding withdrawal of Assam Rifles from Manipur, abrogation of Suspension of Operation pact with Kuki militants, and condemned Assam Rifles' action toward innocent civilians.
They also chanted 'Long Live Manipur' .
All the shops and other business establishments along Uripok-Kangchup Road remained shut during the procession.
