SBI discusses challenges faced by SME and agro customers in violence hit Manipur

The State Bank of India (SBI), Regional Business Office, Imphal held an interactive session with High Net Worth Individual (HNI) customers today at Hotel Imphal.
The meeting was attended by Dhruba Charan Bal, General Manager, Network-II, SBI Local Head Office, Guwahati, who was on his first official visit to the State; Amit Kumar, Deputy General Manager (B&O), SBI Administrative Office, Shillong and Khumukcham Okendro Singh, Regional Manager SBI RBO, Imphal along with Prabhat Rajbhongshi, Assistant General Manager, Imphal Main Branch.
The meeting was held to discuss the present hardship faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and agricultural customers in Manipur.
The SBI representatives addressed the challenges and constraints experienced by these customer segments and presented the steps taken by SBI to support and rehabilitate SME and agri loan customers, said SBI Regional Branch Office-Imphal in a release.

Dhruba Charan Bal highlighted the commitment of SBI to foster economic growth and development in the region.
He emphasized the bank's dedication to providing financial support and guidance to SME and agri customers, who play a vital role in the state's economy.
He also reaffirmed SBI's commitment to the people of Manipur amidst the ongoing ethnic crisis, demonstrating unwavering support and going the extra mile to serve its customers, it said.
The ethnic crisis in Manipur has created a climate of uncertainty and posed significant hurdles for the region's businesses and individuals.
SBI understands the unique needs of its customers and has taken proactive measures to ensure their well-being and financial stability, it said.
Amit Kumar also elaborated on the various initiatives undertaken by SBI to assist SME and agri loan customers.
He also shared the initiative taken up by the State Level Bankers Committee under the initiative of SBI for extending relief to the borrowers affected by the present crisis including rescheduling of loan repayment and extension of moratorium up to 12 months, it said.
He further placed the initiative adopted by SBI during the crisis which included opening of branches before the scheduled banking hours and beyond.
The replenishment of ATMs to make cash available to the common customers was also mentioned by him, it said.
During the interactive session, HNI customers too shared their experiences, challenges, and suggestions.
The SBI officials actively listened to their feedback and assured them of continued support and proactive measures to address their concerns.
The meeting facilitated constructive dialogue and fostered a stronger relationship between SBI and its valuable customers, it continued.
