Agri Department allocates high yielding paddy seeds

Imphal, July 11 2023:
With an aim to increase i production of paddy rice in the state, the agriculture department has allocated a total of around 300 metric tonnes (MT) of high yielding variety of paddy to farmers of different districts free of cost for the current year 2023 .
According to a letter written to the district agriculture officers by the agriculture department on June 23, the-de-partment in order to increase production of rice in 2023 has allocated the said variety of paddy to the farmers of various districts.
The allocation has been made considering the area of cultivable land recorded in 2021-22 .
The high yielding variety of paddy is certified by Thoubal KVK, ICAR Lamphel and CAU and supplied free of cost to the farmers, rsii According, to-the allocation made, Imphal East and Jiribam receivied a total of 17.87'MT'of paddy, 51.57 MT for Imphal West, 41.7 MT for Thoubal and Kakching, 41.19 MT for Bishnupur, 17.383 MT for Chandel and Tengnoupal, 50.37 MT for Churachandpur and Pherzawl, 17.16 MT for Tamenglong and Noney, 20.91 MT for Senapati and Kangpokpi, 17.51 MT for Ukhrul and Kamjong and 10 MT for SDO Jiribam.
The letter also informed all the district agriculture officers to distribute the allocated amount of paddy free of cost to the farmers.
It also said that geo-tagging of the cultivated lands should be done and the beneficiaries list submitted within 30 days.
