Saying that the fresh wave of gun and bomb attacks launched by Kuki militants at Naranseina and Thamnapokpi side could have been stopped in the initial stage had the Centre and State forces acted swiftly right after a farmer was shot at by the Kukis on August 29, Rameshwor appealed to the security forces to control the Kuki militants so as to end the violence engulfing Manipur since May 3 .
He also asked the Government to send adequate Central and State security personnel to neutralise the Kuki militants.
Continuing that it was the Meiteis who rescued the two Kuki women who were paraded by a group of people and the Government has also provided compensation to the two Kuki women, he added that the same sympathy is not shown to the Meitei woman who was gangraped by Kukis at Churachandpur on May 3 .
He then appealed to the Government to provide a cash assistance to the Meitei rape victim at the earliest.
