RSS functionary calls on Governor

Imphal, September 01 2023: Sunita Didi of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Guwahati along with three other members called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, here, on Friday and expressed their anguish over the ethnic violence between two communities which has claimed many lives in the state.

While expressing their anguish, the team drew the attention of the Governor to take all possible efforts for bringing about a durable solution.

They stated that trust deficit between the two communities must be removed and steps to bring them to a negotiating table should be taken up.

They informed about their visits to different relief camps and also wished the Governor for Raksha Bandhan and tied Rakhi on her.

The Governor thanked them for their support in the efforts to restore peace in the state and said that the need of the hour is to bring the two communities at the negotiating table together to solve the issue amicably.

Expressing her deepest concern over the fresh spate of violence in the last two-three days, she said that violence will not bring any solution and therefore all have to shun violence and live together in peace.
