Assistance pours in for local volunteers

Bpr/Moreh, September 01 2023: In a bid to boost the morale of the brave village volunteers who have been safeguarding their respective villages, assistance is being extended to these volunteers from all spheres.

Khwairamband Phouoibi Ima Keithel Vendor's Welfare Union provided edible items to the local volunteers of Naranseina today.

It may be noted that a tense situation is prevailing at Naranseina with intermittent firing taking place ever since Kuki militants fired upon a farmer on August 29 .

The edible items provided by Khwairamband Phouoibi Ima keithel Vendor's Welfare Union include milk, ORS, flattened rice, water bottles, sugar etc.

Speaking at the occasion, Union Secretary K Dhaneshwori expressed concern over the recent events where Kuki militants are carrying out intense attacks upon the Meitei civilians.

It is unfortunate that the Central forces are letting the attacks continue by being mute spectators to these atrocities, she lamented.

Stating that civilians from both the warring communities are going through immense suffering, she urged the Government to take up immediate measures to wipe out Kuki narco-terrorists for restoration of peace and sanity in the State.

Athokpam Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (AMPAL) provided monetary assistance, clothes and edible items to the local volunteers who have been defending the villages at Naranseina and Phubala today.

Continuing their activities of extending aid to the people affected by the ongoing conflict, members of AMPAL went to different locations and extended the assistance.

AMPAL also assured to continue with their activities of extending aid in the coming days to the affected people.

United Progressive Sporting Club (UPSC), Wangjing Hodamba Mamang Leikai and Meira Paibis provided assistance to the village volunteers for the fifth time yesterday.

UPSC in association with the Meira Paibis extended relief materials including edible items to the courageous village volunteers who have been sincerely protecting their respective villages from the relentless gun and bomb attacks of the Kuki militants so as to protect the unity and integrity of Manipur.

During the occasion, the Meira Paibis motivated the village volunteers and assured them of all possible assistance for the cause taken up by these village volunteers.

Meanwhile, Athokpam Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (AMPAL) also provided monetary assistance, clothes and edible items to the local volunteers who have been defending the villages at Naranseina and Phubala.
