Pangal council to campaign for peace, territorial integrity

The United Meitei Pangal Council, Manipur is all set to take up necessary measures for restoration of peace and protection of Manipur's territorial integrity.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Tuesday, Council spokesperson Raees Ahmad Tampak said that meetings of all the Meitei-Pangal CSOs in connection with the present crisis was organised under the initiative of Anjuman Islah-e-Muashara, which is an Ulema body of Manipuri Muslims in the state, at Lilong Turel Ahanbi Anjuman office on July 8 and 16 .
He further informed that the Manipuri-Muslim community has been doing the needful to restore normalcy in the strife-torn state.
However, since there was a need to set up a common and united platform of the Manipuri Muslims, the United Meitei-Pangal Council, Manipur was formed by 22 Meitei-Pangal CSOs in the state.
The council will organise awareness sessions in connection with the present ethnic violence and also stage protest agitations, he added.
