Motion against TNL chief dismissed

Assembly Affairs of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has dismissed the no confidence motion against TNL president David K Shimray following a joint scrutiny by the assembly affairs, TNL, vice president and executives on July 10 and 11 .
In an official declaration, TNL assembly affairs speaker Shan-gam Shipo stated that the no confidence motion put up by 74 'Minganin' (representatives) on June 29 last was found invalid on five points during the scrutiny.
It pointed out that oyt of the 74 'Minganin', two signatures were found missing and further out of the 72 signatories, only two were present during the scrutiny.
It further mentioned that out of the 70 signatories, five 'Minganin' later withdrew from the matter and 67 were absent.
Moreover, E R Number of 55 Minganin were found erroneous during the scrutiny, it said.
Based on these points, the no confidence motion was dismissed on July 11, the declaration added.
