Aid extended to village defence volunteers, Meira Paibis, displaced people

Humanitarian aid pours in from all spheres for village defence volunteers of Saiton Gram Panchayat area under Kumbi AC , Meira Paibis and inmates of relief camps opened at Saiton area.
It may be noted that thousands have been adversely affected by the mayhem in the State which has been going on for more than 70 days.
Meitei womenfolk residing in Kanchanbari, Tripura extended monetary assistance of Rs 20, 000 while descendants of womenfolk of Saiton Gram Panchayat donated Rs 35, 000 .
Members of AMOVA based in Saiton also donated Rs 5, 000 .
Saiton Gram Panchayat Pradhan M Ibomcha Singh extended gratitude to all concerned for extending aid to the village defence volunteers and Meira Paibis who have been relentlessly protecting their villages ever since the outbreak of the crisis in the State.
He also thanked all for extending aid and support to the displaced inmates of the relief camps.
Expressing that the State will face a famine if timely measures are not taken up, he urged the Central and State Government to take up steps to ensure that agricultural activities are not hindered by the ongoing crisis and to restore peace and normalcy in the State at the earliest.
