AR conducts tribute event, security meet

Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) organised a wreath laying ceremony in honour of havildar Narender Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation on February 2, 2005 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that havildar Narender succumbed to bullet injury suffered during a fierce face-off with insurgents at Kwatha village near the Indo-Myanmar border during border pillar verification duties.
One Officer, 11 junior commissioned officers and 33 other ranks of AR paid tribute by laying wreaths and according 'Guard of Honour', it added.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles of IGAR (South), organised a comprehensive security meet with village representatives at two locations, fostering collaboration and coordination with the local populace.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the security meet was convened on Saturday with representatives from villages near Loktak Lake under Bishnupur district.
Attended by 20 villagers, the session delved into discussions about cooperation and coordination with security forces.
Villagers shared their experiences, perspectives, and challenges arising out of the on-going violence in the area and pledged support to AR in upholding peace.
The release also conveyed that AR organised a security coordination meeting at Be-rukhudam village in Chandel district which was attended by 12 people, including the village chief and ex-service-men and addressed various administrative issues and emphasised coordinated efforts for security and development.
