Training on Shrishti & Dhristi for PMKSY-WDC 2.0 ends

A two-day state-level training programme on the Usage of Shrishti and Dhristi for PMKSY-WDC 2.0 in Manipur' organised by State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for Watershed Management, Manipur at the State Academy of Training (SAT), Takyelpat has concluded on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by SLNA CEO N Kulkarani in the presence of NIT Manipur, department of civil engineering associate professor Dr Ng Romeji and SLNA additional CEO Dr RK Sunita on Friday.
During her inaugural speech, Kulkarani underscored the significance of satellite-based monitoring and the application of Shrishti and Dhristi for activities related to natural resource management, springshed management, livelihood, and production system components of the PMKSY-WDC 2.0 projects.
These projects have been actively implemented across the 13 districts of the state since the fiscal year 2021-22.Dr RK Sunita conducted a training session on the 'Uses of Shristhi and Drishti for PMKSY 2.0 WDC project.
She also highlighted the global observance of World Wetlands Day 2024, and urged the participants to contribute to the conservation and preservation of wetlands while implementing PMKSY-WDC 2.0 projects at the grassroots level.
Dr Ng Romeji led a session on springshed interventions for rejuvenation of springs for para-hydrologists.
SLNA programme officer W Premananda highlighted the Shrishti and Dhristi mobile app, focusing on geo-tagging of assets for monitoring purposes.
A total of 106 participants, including field-level officials from the 13 districts, secretaries/members from Watershed Committees, and user groups constituted under the project, actively participated in the training programme.
PMKSY-WDC 2.0, a centrally sponsored scheme by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Government of India, is being implemented by SLNA (WM), a registered society under the state planning department.
The training programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in utilising satellite-based monitoring tools and mobile applications for effective project implementation, aligning with the objectives of PMKSY-WDC 2.0 in the state.
