Tribal folk dance festival concludes

The three-day North-East Tribal Folk Dance festival, which was organised by the People's Socio-Cultural Organisation (PSCO) with financial assistance under the CFPG scheme of Ministry of Culture, ended on Saturday.
The valedictory function of the festival held at Kakwa Lilando Lampak community hall was marked by presentation of folk dances of different tribes including the Meeteis.
The ceremony was attended by Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Ningombam Irabot as chief guest and Mela Lampak High School head mistress 0 Ishwori Devi as president while Manipur State Kala Akademi awardees P Dhanjit Singh (dance) and P Mangi (Thang-Ta) were present as guests of honour.
Different cultural troupes performed Maibi Jagoi, Lousa Jagoi, Pung Cholom and Mao dance on the closing day during which the gathering also paid homage to all those who lost their lives in the ongoing violence by observing silence for two minutes.
