Utkarsh and Saurabh Tiwary hit centuries to power Jharkhand to a commanding total of 473/5 against Manipur at stumps on Day 2 in a Ranji Trophy Group A tie at Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur.
Manipur were bundled out for 170 runs in 62.4 overs yesterday.
Resuming their first innings at 96/1 (in 27 overs), Utkarsh Singh and V Vishal forged a 97 run partnership to take Jharkhand past 150 run mark before Kishan Singha undone Vishal on 48 in the 53rd over.
Bishorjit then removed Kumar Suraj on 19 and Utkarsh on 116 to reduce Jharkhand to 222/4 in 70.1 overs before Longjam Ronald got rid of Virat Singh on 48 runs for the fifth wicket.
Saurabh Tiwary and Anukul Roy then accelerated the innings by adding an unbeaten 159 run partnership for the 6th wicket to make it 473/5 after 117 overs and hand Jharkhand a 303 run lead.
Saurabh was unbeaten on 105 off 152 balls (15 fours) and Anukul was three runs away from completing a century off just 79 deliveries.
