TDBA alleges SF misconduct in Court Complex

Thoubal District Bar Association (TDBA) president Khangembam Arunkumar has censured the action of security forces who entered the Thoubal Court Complex without permission and their alleged unsavoury behaviour on January 18.Addressing the media held Thoubal Court Complex office on Friday, Arunkumar stated that the Association held an emergency meeting and strongly disapproved the conduct of Thoubal additional SP N Suraj and Thoubal police station OC Kh Phullachand who entered the court complex accompanied by BSF personnel without the permission of the Court authority.
The offensive language used by them against the Court staff and lawyers present on the top floor of the Court was also highly disrespectful, he derided.
Arunkumar also rejected the allegation that shots were fired from atop of the Court building during the January 17 night protest, while pointing out that the Court Complex was locked and kept under tight security by the police.
He also mentioned that written complaints regarding the matter will soon be forwarded to District and Sessions Judge, Thoubal and High Court of Manipur registrar general, while adding that Association will not accept the move for stationing of BSF in the Thoubal Court Complex.
Pointing out that the action of the security forces has been recorded on CCTV footage, Arunkumar further demanded authority concerned to take legal action against the police officers for barging into the Court without permission and for their unprofessional conduct.
