Chingsubam Akaba meritorious award

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has started presenting awards in remembrance of Chingsubam Akaba to students who excelled in Meetei Mayek and scored top marks in the examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM), from this year onwards.
According to a release, MEELAL had been urging BSEM to present cash award of Rs 10,000 to the student who secured highest mark in Meetei Mayek subject in class X examination conducted by BSEM.
On the occasion of its 50th Prize Distribution ceremony conducted on Friday, BSEM presented cash prize of Rs 10,000 each to two students, namely, Christina Nongthombam of Nawa Sindam Shang and Tokpam Dhanashree Chanu of Little Flower School for scoring highest marks in Meetei Mayek subject.
The release further stated that MEELAL will distribute the award in the name of Chingsubam Akaba every year.
The award is sponsored by MEELAL from the funds contributed by well-wishers of Chingsubam Akaba and the public.
MEELAL had provided Rs 1.5 lakh to BSEM for the same.
