Meet forms JAC, resolves not to claim bodies

Bishnupur, January 19 2024:
A public meeting was held at Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary ground on Friday condemning the killing of four people at Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou Maning on Thursday by Kuki militants The meeting resolved to form 'JAC against the Brutal Killing of Four Civilians at Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou by Kuki-Zo Narco-Terrorists' with RK Tombishana Devi as its convener.
The public meeting held with Thinungei Zilla Pari-shad caretaker member O Joychandra, Ningthoukhong Municipal Council ex-councillor M Rajen, AMUCO secretary Th Noren, Kanglamei president Y Leirikleima, IKAL president W Luwangleima, WASDEV president RK Tharakshana, AMKIL vice president RK Bino Devi and KWWA president Th Kumuleima Devi as presidium members resolved to press the government to remove central forces deployed in the peripheral areas of Meetei settlements within 24-hour and not claim bodies of the victims till the central forces are removed.
It was also agreed that Sikh Regiment should flush out Kuki-Zo narco-terrorists from the area where the killings took place within 24-hour and inform the public on the same along with filing an FIR against the Regiment in connection with the killings at Bishnupur police station.
The meeting also decided to submit a memorandum of the resolutions to Bishnupur deputy commissioner and SP, and chief minister and Governor of Manipur.
It may be mentioned that on Thursday, Kuki militants executed four people, namely, Oinam Bamoljao (60) and his son O Manitomba (32), Thiyam Somen (50), son of (late) Th Manibabu and Ningthoujam Nabadwip (37), son of (late) N Shyam, all from Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou Ward No 4 .
