Imphal, January 19 2024:
JCRE Skill Solutions, a leading NSDC-funded skilling partner in the North East (NE), has collaborated with the International Institute of Culinary Arts (IICA) to establish the first Chef Development Centre for the North-Eastern region in Manipur.
According to a release issued by Nikhil Laipubam, marketing executive JCRE Group, for over a decade, JCRE Skill Solutions, a unit of Big Concepts Foundation Pvt Ltd, has been instrumental in youth development.
Having trained over 58,000 individuals in diverse service sector skills across the North Eastern States, including hospitality, retail, beauty & wellness, tourism, construction, and dress designing, etc, the institution operates from 10 centres in the region.
With a primary focus on hospitality skills, JCRE skilling institutes have been providing training in Food & Beverage Service and Front Office.
The institution's management has longed to integrate culinary skills into their curriculum, actively seeking a reputable partner for collaboration.
Director & CEO of JCRE, Niranjan Singh said, "While NE people possess excellent culinary skills, their recognition in the culinary world has been hindered by the absence of proper training centres in the region.
Our long-standing desire to venture into the culinary field was hampered by a lack of expertise" .
As part of the collaboration, students from the NE can complete their first year of study at JCRE centres in Manipur and then conclude the final year in Delhi, earning the Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts and Bakery & Confectionary.
