Torching of garbage vehicles condemned

Imphal, July 02 2023: Condemning destruction caused to two garbage collection vehicles, which were parked at Keisham-thong Moirang Ningthou Leirak, by unknown miscreants on the intervening night of June 29 and 30, Committee on IMC Solid Waste Management appealed all concerned not to repeat such acts in future.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, Committee convenor L Premjit extended wholehearted support to the public movement but asserted that there is no justification for targeting the vehicles.

To ensure that household wastes do not get rotted and create health hazards, the discarded materials used to be picked up when there is no curfew, he explained and urged all concerned to the committee if parking of the vehicles caused inconveniences to them.
