Assam Rifles rescues five Meitei civilians

In a commendable display of bravery and swift action, a combined team of 4 Assam Rifles personnel and 20 JAT, rescued five Meitei civilians who were abducted by Kuki miscreants yesterday evening.
Those rescued have been identified as Oinam Naoba Singh (27), S/o D Megha of Imphal East; Laikhuram Kalachan (37), S/o L Chandan of Pourabi; A Champion (38), S/o Ingocha of Naharup; Thangjam Ranjit Singh (39), S/o Th Rajen of Yumnan Leikai and RK Jaysana (32), S/o RK Sanayaima of Nongpok Lourembam.
They have been handed over to Yaingangpokpi police station.
The incident took place around 7.20 pm yesterday when the five, travelling in an autorickshaw towards Gwaltabi village under Yaingangpokpi police station in Imphal East district, were abducted by Kuki miscreants.

Upon receiving information about the abduction, the Assam Rifles team swiftly launched an operation in the area to locate and rescue the abducted individuals.
"The combined team's relentless dedication and professionalism paid off as they successfully rescued all five Meitei civilians, along with the autorickshaw, from the clutches of the Kuki miscreants," said AR.
The rescued individuals expressed their deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the 4 Assam Rifles for their courageous and selfless act of saving them from a potentially dangerous situation.
