Thoubal, July 02 2023:
The failure of the Central and State Government to resolve the 2-month old conflict points at involvement of some secretive aspect in the crisis, said Irom Shubashini, secretary, Thoubal Ningombam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
The meira paibi leader made the statement during a candle light vigil organised by Thoubal Ningombam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup last night at Ningombam Sana Keithel to pay homage to the brave martyrs who have lost their lives in the conflict.
The participants lined up on either side of Thoubal - MI Road and raised many slogans.
Speaking on the occasion, Irom Subhashini stated that if the Government keeps waiting for the Centre's commands concerning an internal matter of the State, then it will never be resolved.

Stating that waiting for leaders from Delhi to resolve this conflict points at the weakness of the Chief Minister, she appealed to N Biren Singh to act with courage and contain the violence at the earliest.
She also denounced the act of 'putting up staged-dramas' and causing fissures among the meira paibis.
"If the Chief Minister wishes to hand in his resignation, please do it after convening a meeting and getting the approval of the concerned stakeholders.
Instead of this, causing confusion and unrest among the people and division among the meira paibis is uncalled for and should not be repeated", she asserted.
Before the Chief Minister resigns, he should resolve the ongoing conflict, deal with the call raised for a separate administration and put an end to the mushrooming of new unlawful villages.
N Biren Singh should not resign before accomplishing these tasks, she said.
Separately, Thoubal Sabantongba Apunba Meira Paibi and Clubs Organisation also formed a human chain along MI Road yesterday night and shouted many slogans including "Withdraw Assam Rifles from Manipur", "Abrogate SoO agreement", "No to separate administration", "We want peace" etc.
