Imphal, July 02 2023:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity has stated that the killing of three village volunteers at Khoijumantabi this morning is another chapter of continued and systematic offence launched by Chin-Kuki narco terrorists.
The committee in a statement noted there is no respite in the offensive launched by these Chin-Kuki narco terrorists and sadly both the State and the Central Government have failed to do anything to stop them to protect the hapless Meitei community.
Even as the preamble of the SoO pact with Kuki militants clearly mentions about upholding the territorial and administrative integrity of Manipur and despite BJP Government's repeated claim to do the same, Chin- Kuki militants are let loose to attack and kill the Meiteis at will, said COCOMI.
What can be deduced from this continued offensive is nothing but Chin-Kuki militants are the aggressors and Meitei are just defending themselves.
What has emboldened these narco-terrorists is the SoO pact signed on two occasions (in 2005 with the Ministry of Home, GOI and in 2008 with the State Government).
As these narco-terrorists gathered full strength they have now turned against Meiteis.
Their acts, indirect encouragement from Central forces, inaction from the Central Government to contain the situation is the manifestation of divisive approach and a tactic to constantly keep Manipur in turmoil, said COCOMI.
Looking at the situation unfolding since May 3, it looks like the Government of India may have approved these narco-terrorists to establish a new "Golden Triangle'' on the soil of Manipur, it said.
In view of these situations, the committee is now ready to highlight the devisive policy employed by the India Government to the world and seek justice, it said.
On instances where State forces were hindered by Central security forces, people have now questioned whether the legitimacy of the State's law enforcing agencies have been curtailed by the Central Government, it said.
It would not be very much wrong to term the 60 days of unrest in the largest democratic country as very 'undemocratic', said COCOMI.
On the utter silence maintained by the Prime Minister, COCOMI on behalf of the people of Manipur asked whether the loss of more than 100 lives in this small State does not matter to him.
If these coordinated onslaughts from the narco- terrorists are not stopped at the earliest and efforts for restoration of peace and normalcy are not employed, a more intense movement against the aggressors and those encouraging them is very likely to occur.
Such an eventuality should be considered something forced upon by the Government of India, it said.
