Imphal, October 26 2026: The Kom Union Manipur (KUM) has appealed to the public, CSOs and all concerned to maintain normalcy on October 30 in view of its annual Berkap-Reiju Cultural Festival.

The festival, a traditional Kom community festival celebrating rich cultural heritage, particularly traditional bow and arrow, will be held on October 30 .

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh will grace the occasion as chief guest.

In a statement, KUM appealed to all CSOs, student bodies, local clubs, community leaders and the public to refrain from calling or imposing any bandh, blockade or other form of disruption on October 30 .

The Union said it seeks cooperation and support of all concerned to ensure peaceful and successful conduct of the festival which aims to preserve and promote Kom cultural identity, strengthen unity and foster peace and peaceful coexistence among all communities.

KUM said it hopes all CSOs and stakeholders will extend understanding and cooperation in the larger interest of cultural preservation, unity and harmony.
