Imphal, October 25 2026:
Saying that the Government of India has been intensifying its efforts to break Manipur, five CSOs namely; All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM), All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Committee on Human Rights (COHR) and Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) have called upon all sections of people to stand united and fight collectively against such sinister attempt of the Government of India.
A sit-in-protest was held today at Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba Mapal today under the aegis of the five organisations against the alleged anti-people and anti-Manipur policies of the Government of India.
The protesters put up placards and festoons which read as "Won't tolerate any attempt to disintegrate Manipur", "State Government must exert pressure on the Government of India to update NRC with 1951 as the base year", "Invalidate SIR 2026", "Resettle IDPs at the earliest" and "Repeal AFSPA 1956" .
Speaking to media persons, PLMPAM president Soraisam Memcha alleged that the Government of India has been intensifying its efforts to disintegrate Manipur which has a written history spanning over thousands of years.
All the people of Manipur need to stand united and fight collectively against such diabolic policies of the Government of India, she said.
Groups supported by the Government of India have been making all efforts to break up Manipur and it's time for all sections of Manipur to launch a collective mass movement, Memcha said.
How the Government of India and the State Government have been handling the Manipur situation is extremely disappointing, she said.
She alleged that it is the Government which has been fuelling communal violence and keeping Manipur on the boil.
Memcha also appealed to all people to launch a collective movement against the Government of India's pernicious policies.
AMUCO president and convenor of the five organisations Sorokhaibam Sanjoy said that SoO and non-SoO Kuki militants are being used as proxies to kill innocent people.
He called upon all sections of people including Government employees to shoulder the collective responsibility of protecting Manipur.
Noting that none of the SoO cadres except one who were supposed to be in their designated camp (Sinai Camp) were found absent, MSF president Hijam Roshan asked whether the enlisted SoO cadres had gone out to attack and kill innocent people.
Even as the Government of India has been pursuing several policies to disintegrate Manipur, the State Government has been totally indifferent, Roshan said.
He said that it's time for all indigenous people to unite and launch a strong collective movement in order to protect Manipur.
