Senapati, January 19 2024:
The All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM), while appreciating the Manipur State Government for launching the "College Fagathansi Mission" on January 6, 2024, has urged the Government to declare the results of the 190 Assistant Professors (145+45 ST Special Drive) at the earliest for effective implementation of the College Fagathansi Mission.
According to the student body, the College Fagathansi Mission is an initiative aimed at improving the overall well-being of the higher education sector in Manipur, aligning with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).The endeavour is expected to address various shortcomings in college infrastructure, particularly in the hill districts, it added.
However, ANSAM said it is disheartening that the comprehensive well-being of colleges, including faculty shortages, remains unattended.
In this context, ANSAM expressed dissatisfaction regarding the undeclared results of the recruitment process for 190 Assistant Professors(145+45 ST Special Drive), concluded in 2021 vis--vis acute shortage of teaching faculties specially in the hill colleges.
Despite the assurance given through the Memorandum of Agreement signed on October 26, 2023, between the ANSAM and the concerned authorities the Chief Secretary and the Education Commissioner, witnessed by the Chief Minister and the Education Minister of the state, the committed result declaration on or before November 2, 2023 has not been fulfilled, the ANSAM rued.
Highlighting that the delay in announcing results is causing uncertainty and concerns amongst the candidates, ANSAM urged the relevant authorities to declare the aforementioned results at the earliest.
