The Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta Sindam Sang (LLTTSS), Leimakhullen Leikai, Meitei Langol, has alleged that the Government of India's foreign policy/ geo-politics has brought harm to the Meitei community and threaten the territorial integrity of Manipur.
A release issued by L Ibocha Khuman, president LLTTSS, alleged that the silence of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, over the threat issued by some groups belonging to the Kuki community, warning the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Churachandpur district to leave the district, has brought shame to the high ranking officers who have been working tirelessly amid the conflict to maintain law & order, and help the public.
LLTTSS also asked why combing operations are not conducted to nab the armed militants who have allegedly taken control of the district and even issued warnings against top Government officials of the district.
Claiming that the Kuki militants have been growing in strength with continuous supply of arms from foreign countries, LLTTSS said that if appropriate & timely steps are not taken by the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs, the civil war in Myanmar may spill over in the entire North East India.
LLTTSS also expressed grave concern over the disrespect to the National flag during the mob violence in Churachandpur town and added that taking down & trampling on the National flag are acts of shaming the country.
Alleging that the armed Kuki militants are suffering from 'Illegal Migrant Syndrome', LLTTSS mentioned that vandalizing & torching Government vehicles, offices and pulling down the Indian National flag is akin to threatening the democracy of India.
Further, claiming that the Meitei youths have been forced to take up arms to guard their villages as the number of State Forces is very little, LLTTSS appealed to the Government to increase the strength of State Force/ Manipur Rifles to control/ prevent similar problems in the future.
