Foundation day celebrated

The 6th Foundation Day of Old Age Home, Langjing Achouba was celebrated at its auditorium on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Thokchom Meinya, former Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) said that the State has been burning for more than 10 months and the prevailing law & order situation is not ideal for election.
He continued that even today many youths, volunteers are still camping near the foothills to defend their village & protect innocent public from the attacks of Kuki militants while thousands of displaced people are taking shelter at relief camps without proper food or essential items.
The former MP shared that considering the upcoming Lok Sabha election and its importance.
it is vital to end the conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur at the earliest to ensure the election is conducted in a free & fair manner.
Pointing out that Lok Sabha elections for Assam and Punjab were postponed in the past as the States were facing internal turmoil at the time, Dr Thokchom Meinya opined that it would be better to conduct the poll after peace & normalcy is restored in Manipur.
RK Meipaksana, chief advisor Old Age Home; and L Bobby Devi, former Up-Adhyaksha Imphal West Zilla Parishad also attended the event.
Meanwhile, Federal Students' Organisation Kangleipak (FESOK) also celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at Singjamei Top Leikai Community Hall today.
It was attended by Manipur University, Department of National Security Studies, Head in-charge, Dr Ingudam Yaipharemba; FESOK president Ronald Kenedy Longjam and DM College of Teacher Education, Assistant Professor, Dr Ch Tomba Singh.
At the event, Ronald Kenedy Longjam expressed concern over the mushrooming of new schools which are not registered/ recognised by the BOSEM & COSHEM.
He shared that FESOK will take appropriate steps in this regard to save the career of students who are future pillars of the Nation.
